Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion, commonly known as ACDF surgery, is a specialized type of neck surgery performed to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerve roots in the cervical spine. This procedure involves removing a damaged or herniated disc from the front of the neck (anterior approach), followed by fusing the vertebrae together to stabilize the spine. It is frequently recommended for individuals experiencing severe neck pain, arm pain, numbness, or weakness caused by disc degeneration, disc herniation, or bone spurs in the neck area that have not responded to conservative treatments.
